Dr. Devadas Bhorali a doyen of Commerce Education in the North East India. With an experience spanning over 60 years, Dr. Bhorali has been a guiding light to many students, research scholars in the past several decades. An attempt has been made to highlight his wide arrey of works through this website which will not only showcase his literary works but will also potray his valuable contribution in the field of commerce education and banking sector.

Dr. Devadas Bhorali was born at Village Kalakhowa, Jorhat on 1st July 1938. He did his early schooling from Madrasa M.E. School, Jorhat and later on passed his Matriculation from Jorhat Government Boys High School in the year 1955. Very early on in his career he was asked to supervise Kamrup College of Vocational Training founded by Late Devananda Bhorali, his father. Dr. Bhorali completed his college education by attending evening classes in Gauhati University from 1955-1963. During the day he used to supervise Kamrup College of Vocational Training as an able administrator and in the later part of the day he would attend evening classes in Guwahati University. Dr. Bhorali started his teaching career in Gauahati Commerce College in the year 1964 and later on joined Guwahati University Post Graduate Commerce Department in 1969 and thereby retired as Head of the Department, Dean and Faculty in 1998.

He continued his teaching journey in North Eastern Hill University (NEHU), Shillong as a Visiting Professor from 2001-2003.

Dr. Devadas Bhorali being felicitated in Gauhati Commerce College by Indian Acounting Association for his immense and valuable contribution in the field of Commerce education of the region in the year 2024. He was conferred with the prestigious title of "Banijya Prabhakar".

Dr. Bhorali has authored, co-authored and also edited 12 books both in English and in Assamese languages. He has also published 150 research papers in both English and Assamese Journals. He has to his credit the remarkable feat of sucessfully guiding 29 Research Scholars in the field of Commerce and Banking.
